Carla Arend
Carla Arend joined IDC in 2000 and is responsible for managing the European information management research service. Carla provides industry clients with key insight into market dynamics, vendor activities, and end-user trends in information management and storage software and services markets. She is also responsible for the Western European storage software data tracking product. Carla works on many custom consulting projects identifying opportunities in the European storage software and services market and has authored white papers on subjects such as Big Data, cloud storage, data protection and recovery in virtualised environments, archiving software, and virtualisation software.

| <p>Mrs. Bigliani joined IDC in 2007 and in her role, she is responsible for EMEA research-based advisory and consulting services, which provide full coverage of the energy industry value chain including both utilities and oil & gas segments. Her area of expertise includes business and IT issues relevant to the utilities and oil and gas business, as well as sustainability, energy efficiency and clean technologies.</p> <p><br> Mrs. Bigliani has over 18 years of experience in the gas and electricity industry. Prior to joining IDC Energy Insights, she worked for Accenture where she led consulting projects for all major Italian Utilities and Oil & Gas companies. Over the last four years, she joined Accenture’s Integrated Marketing Practice where she was responsible for Utilities at the European level and for the Generation & Energy Markets at the global level. </p> <p><br> Mrs. Bigliani is a regular contributor to the IDC Energy Insights blog on the <a href=”http://idc-insights-community.com/energy” target=”_blank”> IDC Energy Insights Community</a> and tweets (@rbigliani) on business and IT issues relevant to the Energy sector.</p> <p><br> In 2008, Mrs. Bigliani joined the <em> European Commission DG Information and Society</em> consultation group on Smart grids. In 2009, on behalf of the European Commission, DG Enterprise & Industry, she led a specific project on ICT in the European Utilities industry.</p> <p><br> Mrs. Bigliani is one of leading analyst of IDC special study <em> “How Global Usage of Information and Communications Technologies Impact on Sustainability”</em> released in concomitance with the United Nations Climate Change Conference held in Copenhagen last December 2009.</p> <p><br> Mrs. Bigliani is the author of several reports and a contributor on energy issues for specialist publications. David Clemente
Dave Clemente leads IDC’s C-Suite Tech Agenda research in Europe, with a primary focus on analyzing and assessing tech spending and buyer preferences. His research covers emerging trends around C-Suite technology objectives, priorities and investments.
Dave is a research professional with more than thirteen years’ experience in think tanks (Chatham House and the International Institute for Strategic Studies) and professional services (including PwC and Deloitte). He started his career in cyber security and risk management, and is a regular conference speaker and broadcast media contributor (including BBC, CNN, and Sky). He has authored numerous publications on topics including C-suite technology priorities, digital transformation, risk management, and data protection.

Rahiel Nasir
Rahiel Nasir is responsible for leading and contributing to IDC’s European cloud and cloud data management research programs, as well as supporting associated consulting projects.
Nasir has been watching technology markets and writing about them throughout his professional life.
Prior to joining IDC, he was a research analyst with 451 Research (now part of S&P Global Market Intelligence), where he covered the datacenter infrastructure and services markets across the EMEA region.
Nasir started his career as a consumer technology journalist with Haymarket Publishing where he rapidly worked his way up the ranks to become editor of a number of high-profile magazines, including What Hi-Fi?.
Following a successful career as a freelance technology journalist, he joined BBC Focus magazine as deputy editor before moving on to become editorial director of a number of B2B magazines, such as Networking+ which includes news and features about the technologies of voice and data networks for enterprise users, as well several publications targeted at vendors and service providers involved in the business and technologies of wireless communications in Africa, South Asia, and Eastern Europe.
Nasir has made numerous appearances on TV, radio, and in the press as a consumer technology spokesperson, and has also spoken at ICT industry events as a presenter, panelist, and moderator.
He was educated at the University of Manchester in England where he studied English and American and classical literature, as well as at the Postgraduate School of Journalism at City University, London.
