Ahmed Al Zarouni serves as the head of IT at ICD, where he always encourages creativity, best practices, high performance, and security as a minimum for any project or task undertaken. His core areas of expertise include governance (compliance, business continuity, risk management, disaster recovery, management of IT departments, and various safety and security standards), infrastructure (servers, virtualization, storage, networking, CCTV, and IP telephony), IT support services, cybersecurity, IT operations, advanced online and app services, ERP, HR, business operations, application and mobile development, websites, online services, and social media. Over the course of his career, he has authored a book on technical thinking, appeared on various technology-related television shows and radio channels, produced over 300 technical videos on YouTube, and conducted dozens of technical awareness training programs for organizations across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. He has also written technical articles for both the Al Roeya and Gulf News newspapers, developed three social media sites, and developed more than 12 mobile apps while also reviewing and helping other developers with their own projects. Ahmed serves as Chief Technology Officer at IBM Middle East, where he advises enterprise clients on leveraging hybrid cloud and artificial intelligence solutions to enable large-scale digital transformation projects. With over that 20 years at IBM, he has held diverse leadership roles spanning complex solution architecture, managing technical sales, and project delivery. He has led cloud-first and AI-driven initiatives, designed complex architectures, and supported high-performing technical teams. In his current role, Ahmed drives sovereign cloud and AI architecture through a co-creation approach with clients, delivering outcome-focused solutions. He also represents IBM at regional forums on digital sovereignty, hybrid cloud, and responsible AI.
Adam Lalani
Adam Lalani serves as the CTO of Alliad, one of the world’s leading providers of supply chain services. He is an award-winning digital transformation and information security strategist who led the development of the GCC’s first production grade supply chain blockchain platform. Early in his career, Adam worked for one of the U.K.’s oldest high street chains where he was tasked with a Y2K driven phase-out of old IBM AS/400 mainframes. He then worked on an automation project for 150 stores across the U.K. Later, he worked as the IT manager for Europe and the Middle East for the steel trading subsidiary of Arcelor Mittal (Macsteel) before joining ESHIPS, the Gulf region’s largest private ship owner. Adam subsequently worked for Tristar, the City of Westminster, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, and Worldwide Flight Services. He is a certified ITILv3 Expert, a PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioner, and a member of the British Computer Society.
